Fiberglass pipe has been used for industrial application for over 50 years. The fiberglass material is light weight and corrosion resistant. For higher air pressure and for water service, Daniel Company's FRP PIPE series RTRP-12E_2-2126 may be used.
Depending on the applications, the pipe’s corrosion barrier usually consists of a layer of synthetic surfacing veil and additional layers of 1.5 ounce chopped strand mat. The structural of the pipe is manufactured by the filament winding process utilizing the resin to saturate strands of continuous glass filaments, which are wound around a mandrel at a winding angle. For added strength, unidirectional fabric may be added to the pipe. Pipe shall be cured to the specified barcol hardness.
